it's a memorable day @ work. will never forget today - dated 16/6/2008.
i did not sleep well last night. simply because i was put in-charge to infuse stem cells for 1 of my patients; stems cells are the marrow cells, extremely precious, day zero, the "transplant day". thou i've been working at the transplant side for months, seen a few stem cells infusion, but was very nervous today because i did nt hav a chance to hands on till today. very exciting short period of time, started at 1122hours n completed at 1145hours. so cool. my patient knew it was my 1st time doing it, so had alot of patience, n she even encouraged me, very touched.. "dun be stress", 3simple words calm me down. =)

what next->  another patient was ordered a CIK transfusion. CIK: frozen concentrated white cells from the patient/ donor infused to promote engraftment n reduce relaspe rate. another precious bag of cells. ANOTHER IMPORTANT INFUSION FOR TRANSPLANT PATIENTS. started at 1409hours n completed at 1419hours.


so cool man, in jus a single day, a single shift, i'veperformed 2 important procedure which i've never done before! =) everything went smoothly. no complications. despite this 2 patients, i still have another 2 patients to tk care of. busy busy day.. bt still manageable. =) so fulfilling day, suddenly wanna shout out, " i LOVE my job". haha!

i wanna thanks "mao mao" the cat, for the useful lecture she gave yesterday regarding hw to run the stem cells. she call it the PBSC(peripheral blood stem cells) talk. she got me well prepared for the special day. n got to thank Shiremeni, her 1st day back to work after 3.5months of Maternity leave, to guide me thru the infusion as well. =D so glad tt i've got great colleagues around. thanks to the advance diploma students for helping me with the vital signs recording.. =)
