yeppie! my off day agn! =) slept till 2pm today. shiok lo. haha.
alright, let me start off with what happened the whole of yesterday.
Was working morning shift yesterday. out of 8 beds, only 5 beds were occuppied. I helped out with bed making, serve my oral medication, IV medications, and administer clexane to 1 of my patient. done with everything by 8.10am. waited for the docters round. i got nth to do, so i started labelling the investigation forms for the next day. followed doctors round soon after. did some changes. and prep d/c for 2 of my patients plus prep for 1 patient whose gg for home leave. wow, that left with me 2 patients. haha. finished passing report after 1.40pm. suppose to knock off at 3.15pm, but we were given permission to leave the ward at 2.30pm. so happy lo. 1st time so early go home. =)=) what made my day was the praising from SN Chin. to me, her expectation of staffs is always high. that's y her praising really made my day! jus simple words from her mouth, " this gal is good, this gal is good". this sentence kept repeating in my mind unconsciously. =) i will work hard to be really good at work, i promise.
yea, after knocked off, i went to lot 1 to get a present for my Lau popo.lau popo was my ex patient whom i knew during my student days attachment in SGH. She is currently in villa francis home. Her daughter invited me to raffles town club, ballroom Dunearn Room 1, to celebrate her 80th birthday. I bought her a necklace. i find that the pendent was a meaningful one, has chinese characters which says, " Nai nai" (grandma), so i decided to buy that for her 80th birthday gift. i hope she likes it. =)
i reached the place at about 7.30pm. i knew i was late, but luckily i wasnt the latest. haha! i was told by pearlie, popo's daughter, that it is a small birthday party. i did not expect the party to be a grand 1 actually till i saw the ballroom! OH MY GOD! about 70 people attended. the people dressed so well, so grand! lucky i did dress properly, good enuf to suit the event. i felt a little awkard as the people there seems to know each other. they were relatives, church mates, and company staffs of auntie pearlie. but well, the pastor kept talking to me. so still alright la. so coincidently, they were church mates and were also working in the same company. haha, i heard that the pastor is the Chairman of the company. so cool huh.
Look @ how grand it is..
The event was more of christianity cantonese kinda thingy, started off with the MC of the night, Ernminn, popo's grandson, giving a welcome speech. Followed by Wenli, popo's granddaughter-in-law, the MC's wife, doing scripture reading. then they sang the song, Great is thy faithfulness. they also sang some old cantonese and chinese songs which popo loves to sing during her younger days. they sang the cantonese version of Happy Birthday song too! so sweet. the whole ballroom became very emotional when ernminn started sharing his experience with popo when he was very young. He SHED TEARS! oh my.. he was sharing it in cantonese, which he claimed that he wasnt good in it, and yes, i agree! haha.. cos i myself cant speak cantonese, but can understand simple ones, and i understood every single word he said. haha. He talked about popo had 2 times stroke 4 years ago. that reminded me abt the days when i took care of her in SGH. she was weaker then. auntie pearlie also shared her experience. then the pastor shared his message with us, in a v profound cantonese, this time round i dun understand a single word. -_-'' haha. they sang "the steadfast love" too.
After the thanks giving, the dishes were served.
the dishes was OKAY la. 1st dish was the chinese birthday cake, shou tao. so cute, there is a birthday candle on 1 of the shou tao. haha. 2nd dish was cold dish, then shake fin soup, fried fish, vegetable with mushrooms, birthday noodles, prawn & scallops, hot desert and finally the English birthday cake. its chocolate! my favorite. haha =)
the celebration ended off with thankful speech by the MC.
